The SPC is a busy group of members, led by a SPIR Board member and there are plenty of different ways to get involved here. The SPC oversees the abstract submission process for the annual meeting, including refining the session formats for the year, solicitation of abstract submissions, selection of and communication with abstract reviewers, final organization of selected abstracts for the program, and judging of scientific abstracts for the annual Pioneer prize.
This committee is led by members of the SPIR Board. It plays an important role in shaping education and training standards for PIRs, as well as developing online educational resources for members and activities through the year, such as our webinar program.
Research & Registries Committee
This committee is central to our ambitions for PIR’s future. We work to organize efforts to collaborate on research projects and registries in the field of Pediatric IR.
Vendor Sponsorship Committee
Through this committee, we work with industry to maintain supportive relationships that bolster the educational and financial needs of the Society. We are also keen to create opportunities for collaboration on research projects and product design. Get in touch with us if you have strong links with industry partners that may benefit our organisation or if you are happy to help us in reaching out for sponsorship for our annual meeting.
Every year, the Past President puts out a call out for members interested in working together to shape the SPIR Board for the following year. This nominating committee acts on behalf of the membership to make recommendations for individual members to be elected to the Board of Directors and Executive Board. It is a short-term commitment but with a big impact.
Have a topic you feel is pertinent to pediatric interventional radiology and will catch our members attention? Send us your ideas or, even better, volunteer to host a webinar!
